Linea Codex manual
Linea Codex is an offline-first home for your genealogy. You keep your family tree as a plain GEDCOM file that you own, edit it with a standards-aware editor, check it against the GEDCOM specification, convert it between GEDCOM versions, and explore it visually — all in your browser, with nothing uploaded anywhere.
This manual is organised in four parts:
- Get started — what Linea Codex is, how to open it, and how to load your first project.
- Using Linea Codex — task-by-task guides to every part of the app: the tree, the editor, validation, the pedigree, and more.
- GEDCOM Cookbook — recipes for recording real genealogy in GEDCOM: names, events, sources, adoptions, media, and the things GEDCOM has no tag for.
- Reference & Concepts — keyboard shortcuts, the validation-rule catalog, version differences, and how your data is stored.
